A.J.: I did.
Warren: What the hell for?
A.J.: I don’t feel the need to explain my art to you, Warren.
The Girl Tyler team took a road trip this past weekend up to Berryville, VA to film Krista & Jay’s wedding, which was a most amazing “vintage couture” affair held at Rosemont Manor. Check out the first of their films we’ll be creating, a music video style Sneak Peek of Krista & Jay’s big day! The Girl Tyler team definitely had a blast capturing all the love, laughs and or course dancin’!
Pretty in Pink … and Gold!
This lovely color set was one I noticed gaining popularity last year with a range of champagnes and peaches accented by metallics. Now it’s evolving and I just love the use of this palette, mixing of the two colors with gold foil printing and pink paper. It is soft and elegant but not too feminine (something to consider for your groom) … just makes me want to break open a bottle of bubbly! For more of this set from Daily Sip Studios check out the full post on Oh So Beautiful Paper.
Would you consider using this color palette?
Been doing a little catch up on session and wedding sharing so be sure to take a look on Facebook You don’t want to miss Kahlie & Brodie’s Jam Session on the beach celebrating their engagement!

One wall for a (color) full session! I love this engagement session by Kirralee Weddings featured on 100 Layer Cake with most of the images taken in front of a color block wall. It shows that a concept and location can be simple and still allow for amazing and emotional images. I feel like there should also be a title of “behold the power of props” because this couple considered the little details that really make the scenery and session tied together. Now to go scout some good walls for sessions to come …
At our most recent wedding my clients challenged me to step up my game and do a little night time photography (something I don’t normally gravitate towards - flash is such a temperamental, tricky beast). Above is one of the images from our end of the night mini session after the couple’s sparkler exit. I had my husband shooting with me that day so he put his lighting-savvy self right to work setting up the flashes and even though the equipment got a little finicky in the humidity, I think we still got some great portraits! I hope the bride and groom love them as much as I do… I have to confess, I’ve also got a soft spot for this venue since it’s where we got married too.
Tyler LOVES… Letter Openers!
I was so excited to see on Oh So Beautiful Paper that the Letter Opener (probably my favorite desk accessory as a child) is not only still alive and well but now very stylish! Apparently we’re no longer limited to heavy metal knife-like objects but get the option for personality bearing birds or rustic wooden handles. I think my favorites are #1 and #6. How about you?
